A wonderful country pub, set in a quaint little village. The pub was run with care and attentiveness and the food was outstanding. We were greeted with a warm welcome by one of the owners and we were well looked after throughout our stay. The pub was always busy and had a lovely atmosphere, and you could tell it was a popular establishment with the locals. The room we stayed in was homely and comfortable and provided us with everything that we needed throughout our stay. Fabulous hanging baskets around the pub too.

I was late arriving due to a very, very long journey and the booking I had made with another place being cancelled when I was en route. The staff could not have been more welcoming or more helpful. The car park was spacious, and felt safe, and the area around the pub was lovely and quiet. My room was very clean and comfortable, with everything I needed laid on. I didn’t eat there as I arrived late and left early, but they very kind made me up a packed lunch to take away. I’d definitely go back, and I’d recommend to others. I felt very safe there

Lovely pub in a quiet village setting. We received a warm welcome upon arrival. Good sized car park and check-in was simple and easy. Double bedroom was fine with a spacious, modern and very clean en-suite. Good choice of drinks at the bar and staff were very attentive. Ate at the restaurant one evening and the food was plentiful and tasty. Both the full English and vegetarian breakfasts were good. The knowledgeable host provided us with a number of suggestions of places of local interest. Large beer garden but it was a bit too chilly to enjoy it during our stay! Oakham and Rutland Water just a few minutes drive away.

The White Lion is a beautiful inn in a delightful village. I stayed with my elderly mother. The landlords and the staff could not have been more accommodating, welcoming and friendly. The rooms were comfortable and spotlessly clean. I would definitely stay here again .

Nice to find a pub without loud music blaring. Good choice of drinks. Staff and locals were very friendly and helpful. Food was very good - although a little 'pricey' - and several items on the menu were not available! Room was clean, but rather small. Generally - it was a pleasant stay - and would go back.

Booked the superior double and it was ideal, having a small sofa to sit on was a bonus. The bed & pillows was very comfy. A very clean room. Food/breakfast was very tasty with plenty of choice. The downstairs bar, lounge and restaurant areas were full of character with quirky bits of decor all around. Very friendly staff in all areas. Lovely, large beer garden and plenty of parking.

Very friendly and welcoming. The room was fabulous and the bed comfortable. The staff were great and had a sense of humour. They had to, listening to my dad jokes about vegetables! The food choice was great and cooked magnificently. We ate breakfast on 2 of our 6 days and it was perfect, Plenty of free parking. The owners run a very good Inn. we wanted to return for 6 days next year but the rooms were booked for a wedding. Would certainly return!

Had a wonderful stay thank you. Really enjoyed the location, the outlook. Arrived during a beautiful Rutland sunset! Found there to be a lovely lively energy in this quaint village pub. Good hearty meals and tea and breakfast. If the locals like it, it must be a good sign. Room was perfect for me on my own - enough space for my things and sweet in its design. Clean, comfy bed and linen. Friendly service from all the team. Would recommend.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The landlady called us to warn us of an event happening in the village which meant a road would be closed for a short period.

Great village pub atmosphere, friendly helpful staff, wonderful food, spotless room and bathroom, great beer ! Big big plus, you are dog friendly and my Spaniel, Scooby loved it there ! Also kind enough to look after my coat after I left it during a previous stay. Fantastic, will recommend to all my associates who go model flying at the national model flying centre near Sewstern.
